Hey Pfargtle!

I think that running a second color is absolutely correct. Black is a great choice, and I think that your choices are pretty solid. (Although we have argued amongst ourselves about Alms of the Vein a bit in the past, so that one's in the air.) I think that blue is also a clear option but there were already a bunch of Fevered Visions lists out there and we endeavor to tread new ground.

We were explicitly trying to see if we could make a mono-red version work (for science!) and came to the conclusion after testing that we couldn't, but that's why we stuck with that kind of list. I think that Sin Prodder was just a miss. It's a card we should have noticed but failed to include, so thanks for that!! I'll bring that up and some face-palms will happen.

I will check out your list on TappedOut as soon as I get a chance, thanks for your message!!

Hey team,
Just wanted to make a few comments on what I think could have pushed this deck a bit more. I built a similar deck prior to Kaladesh which tried to use direct damage for the kill.

I was playing a BR so that I could run Asylum visitor, Heir of falkenrath, Alms of the vein, and Collective brutality. Black gives you a lot more options to discard, making all madness cards a lot more powerful. I know you guys didn't want to add another color but the upside is so great that I would definitely recommend it.

Additionally, I was running Sin Prodder, which I definitely recommend as a 2-3 of in this type of deck. Its particularly good when running Bedlam Reveler and all the madness spells. When you flip a fiery temper on upkeep, your opponent has to choose between taking their lumps now while saving you mana, and potentially giving you advantage by taking damage later when you discard fiery temper to flip an Heir or escalate collective brutality.

here's a list I threw together really quick just now.

Its not a perfect brew since I kind of just threw it together from the top of my head. It probably needs more Cathartic reunion or tormenting voice but it could be fun.

Love the podcast,
